Attend a Special Event

One of the best ways to honor the service of those who died for our country is by attending a special Memorial Day event. In Charleston, you can attend some lovely musical tributes to our fallen heroes. The Memorial Day Weekend edition of Music on the Green Concert Series will offer two days of fantastic free music across a variety of genres. The Memorial Day Concert at Hampton Park will offer patriotic tunes by the combined Charleston Concert Band and Columbia Community Band.

Can't attend an event or a ceremony? Consider volunteering at a Veteran's Organization or learning about local heroes.

Enjoy the Outdoors

Memorial Day is a terrific time to get outside and enjoy nature! You'll have plenty of options for fun in the sun in Charleston. There are plenty of places to hike or enjoy a casual walk. Want to engage in some water-based activities? You can head to one of the many nearby beaches for swimming, sunbathing, boating, surfing, and more. Like sports? Check out Charleston's gorgeous golf courses

Don't feel like doing anything too active? We don't blame you for wanting to spend the day relaxing! Have a picnic in the park or go for a walk around town.
